Hunting for treasures

Did you know that millions of people worldwide secretly hide and search for little stashes hidden in public places?

Did you also know that the number of caches hidden in the Broadstone area have been on the rise in recent years?

Geocaches are a great way to have a little fun on a treasure hunt and get out and see the countryside, and is something we enjoy doing as Scouts.

Official Cache Owners

Broadstone Scouts are registered cache owners, and we look after our batch of geocaches hidden in the areas we frequent the most.

Our Scouts are challenged to create interesting caches by upscaling and recycling items from home, and then we test them out at our hiding spots.

Curious as to what they made? You'll have to sign up to geocaching.com and go find them!

Geocaching involves navigating by GPS, often using a handheld device or app on your phone, to a specific spot, or 'ground zero'. There, you follow the clues, solve any puzzles or complete any tasks in order to discover and log the cache, before hiding it back for the next 'cacher.
